Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, seems to be breaking its recent record of overpromising and underdelivering. This shift has startled fans and critics alike as it could release its upgraded Model 3, famously known in EV circles as the Model 3 Highland, sooner than expected in the United States. This is a recollection of Tesla’s Model Y delivery scenario where they promised delivery by the Fall of 2020 but started it earlier in March 2020.

The upgraded versions of the Tesla Model 3 – Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD) were unveiled end of August 2022. Initially, it was understood that this model would only be available in territories catered to by the Gigafactory in Shanghai, with the US continuing to receive the previous versions from the Fremont Factory. Predictions about the release of the Model 3 Highland were made for the year 2024. However, the recent sightings of uncovered Model 3 Highland vehicles on social media suggests an earlier than expected release date, possibly as early as Q1 2024. These findings, including the VINs, reveal that the vehicles could be produced in the Fremont Factory and already very finely made.
