Michael Saylor, the Executive Chairman at Microstrategy, has faced the unpleasant experience of being utilized in deepfake bitcoin giveaway scams. These scams, perpetrated through AI-created falsified videos, demonstrate Saylor and his organization promoting non-existent bitcoin bonuses. The scams promise to double investors’ bitcoin or ether payments, yet Saylor stands firm that such offers are a fallacy, reiterating there is no such thing as free money.

The scams leveraging deepfake videos have infiltrated platforms like YouTube extensively and don’t limit themselves to just one executive. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse was also targeted in these scams. Recently, Saylor warned his followers about these fraudulent videos on YouTube, underlining the need for vigilance and skepticism around such give away offers. The scam videos feature a counterfeit version of Saylor, luring viewers with the claim of doubling their bitcoins and making misleading statements about the impact of SEC approved bitcoin exchange-traded funds on BTC prices. The videos direct viewers to fraudulent websites promising massive cryptocurrency giveaways without needing any prior knowledge of crypto investing.
