Russia may lift restrictions on diesel exports soon.

Last updated on October 5, 2023

According to a report by the daily Kommersant, the Russian government is preparing to ease its restrictions on diesel exports in the near future. The ban on diesel exports was put in place to ensure sufficient supply for the domestic market amid rising demand. However, with the improvement in the nation’s diesel production and reserves, the government is now considering lifting the ban partially.

The move to lift the ban comes as a relief for the Russian oil industry, which has been facing challenges due to the export restrictions. It is expected that the easing of the ban will help boost the industry and also allow Russia to capitalize on the increasing global demand for diesel. While the exact details of the partial lift are yet to be revealed, this development indicates a positive step towards expanding Russia’s export capabilities and strengthening its position in the global energy market.
