Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin Makes Another ETH Transfer

In a recent transaction, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, transferred 3,000 ETH (equivalent to approximately $4.9 million) to a Vb 2 labeled address. The transaction took place on August 28 and was recorded on Etherscan. This transfer increased the total value of ETH held in the wallet to around 3,018 ETH, worth just under $5 million.

The transaction has sparked speculation and curiosity within the crypto community, as the recipient and the intention behind the transfer remain undisclosed. Buterin has a history of offloading portions of his ETH holdings and publicly discarding tokens received from unplanned altcoin airdrops. Earlier, he had transferred 600 ETH (valued at $1 million) to the U.S. exchange platform Coinbase.

Despite this significant transfer, Ethereum’s price remained stable at $1,640, with a 24-hour trading volume of over $3.4 billion. The impact of Buterin’s transaction and its implications for the overall market are yet to be determined.
