This prestigious event aims to recognize and celebrate significant achievements within the crypto industry, highlighting notable networks, individuals, and technological advancements that have propelled the sector forward. Set to occur from February 21 to March 6, the awards will draw upon a combination of CoinMarketCap’s comprehensive data, insights from an expert panel, and community votes to determine the winners, with the results being announced on the final day of the event.
The CEO of CoinMarketCap, Rush Luton, has described the awards as aiming to be the crypto and Web3 equivalent of the Oscars, providing an entertaining platform to unite the industry and honor those driving its progress. Eight categories are outlined for awards, covering a wide range of areas within the cryptocurrency world. Among the nominees are industry giants and innovations such as Ripple, Solana, Chainlink, Ethereum, and Toncoin for the Crypto of the Year and influential leaders like Changpeng Zhao, Brian Armstrong, and Vitalik Buterin for the Crypto Leader of the Year. Other categories aim to recognize achievements in meme coins, DeFi innovation, layer 1 and layer 2 projects, influencer contributions, and established brands embracing Web3 to enhance customer experiences.
