The Chinese government has recently publicized their initiative to establish a metaverse standardization working group. This group’s main goal is to develop distinct regulations that will govern the Chinese Yuanverse platform. The assembled standardization group will encompass Chinese universities, governmental institutions, and several major corporations such as Tencent, Huawei, Baidu, Netease, and Sense Time.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) is hoping to create benchmarks for metaverse platforms. As per a formal statement released on January 19, they have disclosed the establishment of the Metaverse Standardization Working Group. This team will be collaborated with several entities encompassing Chinese educational institutions and big corporations like Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, Netease, and Sense Time. The initiative aims to cater to the needs of industrial growth and industry management and is expected to receive feedback for the publicity plan of the group by February 18. The formation of this group follows MIIT’s recent announcement of a new Web3 strategy, intending to develop the blockchain and metaverse field as areas of exploration, studying the potential applications of these technologies.
