Germany and Austria stop giving aid to Palestinian areas.

Several European countries are advocating for a European Union (EU)-wide decision to halt financial assistance to the Gaza Strip. The move comes as a response to recent conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants, where the Gaza Strip suffered significant damage, resulting in the urgent need for reconstruction efforts. However, these nations argue that international aid should only be resumed if there are guarantees to prevent funds from being diverted towards terrorist activities.

The push for an EU-wide block on assistance is primarily driven by concerns over the lack of accountability and transparency in how aid is distributed in the Gaza Strip. Several European countries have expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the current mechanisms in place and fear that funds could potentially end up in the hands of terrorist organizations. They believe that implementing stricter conditions for the resumption of aid is necessary to ensure that it genuinely benefits the citizens of Gaza and is not misused for illicit purposes. These nations are calling for a comprehensive evaluation of the existing aid channels, as well as greater oversight to prevent any misuse of funds.
