South Korean gaming company Wemade has announced that it will use Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to power an interoperable Web3 gaming ecosystem. Wemade’s Unagi omnichain ecosystem will be integrated with Chainlink CCIP, allowing for seamless interactions between blockchains and boosting their adoption. The Unagi ecosystem currently supports eight major blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain, Optimism, and Avalanche.
Wemade chose Chainlink’s CCIP due to its robust security measures, which are essential in the face of rising threats to cross-chain protocols. Chainlink’s Risk Management Network will continuously monitor for potential illicit cross-chain activities, ensuring the security of the ecosystem. This collaboration makes Chainlink’s CCIP a cornerstone of the Unagi initiative, integrating on-chain and off-chain functionalities and playing a pivotal role in constructing the omnichain protocol. In addition, Chainlink Labs has become the first official member of Wemade’s Certified Organizations for Unagi Round Table (COURT) group, further solidifying their partnership in the development of cross-chain systems for easy communication and secure asset transfers between blockchains.
