XRP Airdrop Updates

GMO Coin, the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange under the GMO Internet Group, has announced that it will distribute SGB tokens to eligible XRP investors by the end of September. Each XRP investor will receive the yen equivalent of 0.1511 Songbird tokens for every 1 XRP held as of December 12, 2020. Previously, GMO Coin stated that investors who wish to participate in the offering must provide a snapshot of their holdings, including those who use crypto asset lending services.

Japanese XRP investors have been eagerly awaiting this distribution for years, but it has been delayed due to local regulations. GMO clients who have previously invested in XRP have already received Flare (FLR) and are now expecting the SGB airdrop. While FLR distribution took nearly two years, eligible customers can expect to receive their SGB by September 29, 2023.

In other news, analysts are speculating on the future of XRP. The asset experienced a significant price increase after Ripple secured a potential court win against the US SEC in July, but it dropped following the regulator’s decision to appeal the ruling. Some analysts believe that the appeal will be denied, leading to a price increase for XRP. Another analyst predicts that XRP could reach levels between $2.8 to $7. However, they later revised their forecast to $1.40 if XRP surpasses certain key levels.
